Our Commitment

Nutrition Log is operated by Diego Rodriguez, Rodriguez-Web, Delftstraße 8, 27474 Cuxhaven, Germany. Contact: support@nutrition-log.de. This policy describes account, nutrition, health, AI and payment data processing. Nutrition Log is intended for adults aged 18 and over.

Data We Collect

Information You Provide

• Account email address, user ID and, when provided, name and profile photograph
• Age, gender, country, preferences, height, weight, goal weight and nutrition targets
• Meal and water entries, nutritional values, manual corrections, recipes and photographs
• Chat messages, attachments and conversation history used with the AI functions
• Progress photographs and activity information you choose to record or import

Automatically Collected Data

• Network and technical request information, including IP addresses, needed by our hosting and service providers
• Firebase installation or messaging identifiers and device platform for notification delivery
• Subscription product IDs, transaction or purchase tokens, purchase state and expiry information for entitlement verification
• Operational error and security information generated when requests are processed

How We Use Your Data

• To provide and improve the App's functionality
• To process AI estimates for your food logs
• To personalize your experience
• To send important updates about the App
• To ensure security and prevent fraud

We do not sell your personal data or show advertising in the app. Providing the service requires processing by external providers, including Supabase and Google. In particular, AI functions send relevant inputs to Google Gemini as described below.

AI Processing

When you use an AI function, relevant text, meal photographs or attachments are sent through our Supabase backend to Google Gemini. Depending on the function, the request also contains profile information, nutrition goals, recent meal or water entries and conversation history to provide context. This is server-side processing, not on-device AI.

We do not operate the previously described training process based on anonymized user corrections. Corrections update your entries. Google processes API inputs and outputs under its applicable Gemini API terms, including security and abuse-prevention logging. Chat requests may use Google Search grounding, with additional processing under those terms. Avoid entering information about other people or information unnecessary for your request.

Apple Health and Android Health Connect

Connecting these services is optional. With your system permission, Nutrition Log reads steps for your activity overview and height and weight for profile setup. You can refuse or revoke individual permissions in your device settings. Nutrition Log does not require access to these services to accept manual entries.

Imported height and weight can be saved in your Supabase profile. Profile values can subsequently be included in AI context, so imported health information is not necessarily restricted to your device. Health information is not used for advertising.

Camera, Photographs and Speech

Photo and microphone features are optional. Selected meal or chat images can be processed by AI; profile and progress photographs are stored for those respective features and are not automatically submitted for food analysis. Speech input uses your operating system's speech-recognition service. Depending on the device and its settings, audio may be processed by the platform provider online. The recognized text is used as your app input. We do not promise that speech recognition is always offline.

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure, encrypted servers. We use industry-standard security measures including:

• Encryption in transit (TLS/SSL)
• Access controls and authentication

However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your data at any time
• Export all your data in standard formats
• Delete your account and all associated data
• Opt out of non-essential data collection
• Request corrections to your data

You can exercise your applicable rights by contacting support@nutrition-log.de, including access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability and objection. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it for future processing. You may complain to a competent data-protection supervisory authority. We may need to verify account ownership to protect your data.

Data Retention

Account entries are retained to provide your history until you delete them or request account deletion. Technical providers may retain security logs and backups according to their retention schedules. Data required for legal obligations or fraud prevention may need to be retained separately. We do not promise a universal 30-day or 90-day deletion period for every provider and backup.

• Request account deletion from your profile in the app or through our public deletion page.
• Account deletion removes the account and associated app records and uploaded files handled by the deletion process.
• Store subscriptions must be canceled separately through Apple or Google Play.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Supabase: account authentication, database, uploaded files and server functions.
• Google Gemini: AI processing, including relevant nutrition and profile context.
• Google Firebase: push messaging and website hosting.
• Apple and Google: app distribution, optional identity-provider sign-in, platform speech services and store payments.

Providers also process certain information for their own platform, security or legal purposes under their respective privacy notices. Store payment details are entered with Apple or Google; we use purchase records to verify Pro access, not your payment-card number.

Adults Only

Nutrition Log is intended for people aged 18 and over. Do not use the tracking or AI functions if you are under 18. If an account contains a minor's data, contact us for assistance or deletion. Account management remains available for existing accounts.

International Data Transfers

Your data may be processed on servers located outside your country of residence. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for international transfers.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or through the App. Please review this policy periodically.
